Fredagsfika!

My last day at school for this period of internship.

We had a typical Swedish “fredagsfika” in the classroom after the students had a presentation for me and my colleague Filippa who pose in this picture.
Fredagsfika means that you have a cup of coffee and some kind of pastry or sweets. This happens every Friday in most of the workplaces in Sweden

  1. That's really nice! We also had cookies with the students to celebrate the end of the first period (our academic year is divided into 4 periods, so the 2nd one is just about to start tomorrow!)!

  2. Ok so you have 4 periods? We only have 2 but there is a few breaks in every term.

  3. Hi Mia. We don't have periods at all! Our students enrol when they are ready, and attend scheduled classes or work with the trainer who supports each individual doing different subjects in the same class room. Much training is completed in the workplace by workplace trainers who complete their qualification with me.
To be a workplace trainer or assessor in Australia you need to complete a 'skill set' and also have a workplace qualification or trade. As the training organisation we work together with the company to complete the training.

    1. Hi Gillian. Sounds quite though. For how long time does the student attend ?

  4. Mia, this sounds a lot like Aussie workplaces! At my training company headquarters, at 3pm/1500 every Friday, we can hear the tingle of the beer trolley! We also have a morning tea once per week!
