The world is big ... and my journey has brought me to Gothenburg, Sweden. I've been 30 years in the tourism industry and 25 of those years I have been working at the largest German airline. I have decided, at the end of my journey, to pass on my experience to the younger generation. I study German language and literature and vocational teacher with the subject Hotel and Tourism in the second year. My wish is to teach tourism in German, English and Swedish in the future.

Good morning from Australia (well it's morning here anyway),
ReplyDeleteWie geht's? (I did a university exchange in Regensburg two years ago when I studied my degree).
It sounds great, Eva, that you have decided "at the end of your journey", to work with younger generations. I think you must still be very young at heart! It is wonderful to have people with a wealth of industry experience such as yourself to be teachers. That brings lots of great stories for the students. I am a bit younger (24) and most of my students are actually much older than me. I normally try to gain respect from my learners by being professional, well dressed, etc. Just wondering if you have any other suggestions about engaging your learners that you could share with me?
Hi James,
ReplyDeleteRegensburg is really a beautiful environment ... sehr schön! You've already gained much by showing that you want to leran from the "older". I am sure with this attitude you will get very far. I can only say: "Respect the knowledge of the others and you will learn a lot."
Eva
And even some more German comments:
ReplyDeleteVielen Dank, Eva, für die interessanten Bilder und Beschreibungen Deiner Arbeit!
Es ist eine gute Idee, die eigenen, reichen Erfahrungen aus der Arbeitswelt an die nächste Generation weitergeben zu wollen! Ich wünsche Dir weiterhin Viel Erfolg, auch bei der Suche nach einem Lehrerjob in Deutschland!
Alles gute von einer ausgewanderten Deutschen in Finnland :)
