Serving

The school has an à la carte restaurant in connection to the lunch restaurant. Here the students learn and practice their skills in serving. The students in the Hotel and Tourism program learn the basics of serving, but it´s the students at the Restaurant and Food program that serves guests in the à la carte restaurant. Both the à la carte and the lunch room is open for the public.

  1. Hi Ann, I used to do a food & beverage course at Ryde, TAFE college in NSW they have the same establishment like yours. Part of the course was serving customers in the a la carte restaurant. We also had a notice board where hospitality employers leave their contact details and ask for students to apply for different positions.

    1. Hi, that was a good idea, to have a notice board! Do you think that also could serve as a contact for internship for the students? How do you work with internship at your school? For how long and is it every schoolyear?

  2. Hi. How often is the restaurant open to the public? Is it a decided menu , or students may be involved in it too?

    1. Hi Lina,
The lunch restaurant is open five days a week and the á la carte four days a week. I think that they sometimes are open evenings aswell. The students are involved in deciding the menu but I don´t know to what extent they are involved.

  3. Do you use the same area for a la carte and lunch? what is the price for a meal? Is it all students that serves the "real guests" or is it only 2nd and 3rd grades?
